Tucked away in one of the lovely streets of Le Marais you will find Cafe Ineko, a lovely vegan cafe designed by Francois Champsaur (known for Hotel du Ministere) and run by his partner Ines de Villeneuve (nickname Ineko, hence the name).

Inspired on Mallorca

You would easily walk past it since it’s a small shop front, but it’s a shame to miss it – especially because the home made food is so delicieux. Ines and Francois discovered the place when it was just one black empty hole. Once they got rid of the plates covering the open ceiling in the middle, the light came in and they decided to turn it into a cafe inspired on one of their favorite Balearic Islands, Mallorca.

Vegan dishes

After you sit down they bring you the menu written on a black chalk board. Ines recommends the tomatoes as a starter, the coca majorquinne as a main and the rhubarb mousse de fromage blanc as a dessert. We’ve tried it all and everything was so fresh and so good. And everything is vegan too. Chef Julie Bavant is responsible for all the lovely dishes – and of course the menu changes quite regularly so they cook with the best ingredients of the season. Don’t forget to order a glass of natural wine – made by Ines’ brother in the South of France. We’ve had the home-made infusion drink, also a true recommendation.

A little shop

There’s also a little shop inside the cafe. So if you love the wine, the beautiful knives or the plates: you can all bring it home with you.
